About me
I am a former Chemistry teacher with 10 years of classroom teaching experience and over 15 years of tutoring experience. I hold an MChem degree, a PhD in Chemistry, and a PGCE in Secondary Science.
My PhD and pharmaceutical research background give me a deep understanding of Chemistry beyond the A-Level syllabus. In lessons, that helps me explain difficult ideas clearly, connect topics together, and answer the questions that sit behind the mark scheme.
Tutoring Experience
As a former teacher and former Edexcel/OCR examiner, I understand both the subject content and the details of exam preparation. I help students see what examiners are looking for, avoid common mark losses, and develop the accuracy needed for higher grades.
My Approach
I believe that every student has unique needs, so I tailor each session to address the specific topics they want to cover. Regular assessments help me identify areas where students may need additional support. I emphasise the importance of consistent exam practice, often assigning past paper questions as homework to reinforce learning and build confidence.
My goal is to make Chemistry accessible and engaging, ensuring that students not only understand the material but also develop the skills and confidence needed to excel in their exams.
